Cane and Silk

        All rod components can be selected by the customer. beginning with the cork grip style  to the finish on the guide wraps. This I feel provides a wonderful experience for the customer as they assist in selecting components that will be used for building/refinishing their custom fly rod. 

 

Cork grips:

• Full wells, half wells, cigar and western also  grip/reel seat combined with nickel silver hardware

 

Reel seats:

• Uplocking with wood insert, walnut, rosewood, maple, exotic  with  nickel silver, polished aluminum, black hardware

• Downlocking with nickel silver hardware and burl wood insert.

• Sliding band with nickel silver, aluminum hardware and burl wood insert

 

Blank finish:

• I offer two types of finishes that I use on my bamboo rods. Satin spar (has a warm glow and does not reflect sunlight while fishing, personally my favorite) and Gloss spar (traditional finish, high shine can be buffed down slighly)

 

Thread and thread finish:

• I have two options of thread material available, silk and nylon. There are numerous color 's that I have in stock and color choices are available upon request

• Thread finishes available are classic spar varnish and high or low build epoxy

 

Stripping guides:

• New agate stripping guides in colors: red/amber, emerald green, semi clear and blue limited quantity

• Vintage N.O.S agate stripping guides in color: red (varying availability)

• Traditional stripping guide, two styles available one for cane rods and one for fiberglass, available in black or chrome finish

 

 Winding check, hook keeper, snake guides and tip tops:

• Winding checks available in several styles, gunsmoke and chrome 

• Hook keepers are available in standard and ring style, in chrome and black

• Snake guides and tip tops used are available in hard chrome and black

 

Ferrules:

• Nickel silver super Z style

• Chrome plated brass

• Gun blue finish available for either style

 

Rod bag:

• a hand made rod bag will be included with each rod purchase or refinish free of charge
